One thing is impossible in Scheveningen: you will never be bored. Whatever your age and whatever your interests, there is something for everyone.For the younger visitors, there is Scheveningen SEA LIFE Centre with its wonderful aquatic creatures or the miniature city of Madurodam (which mum and dad will enjoy too!).At different locations along the Boulevard, the kids can take turns on the bouncy castles, the tourist trains and the carousels.Those interested in history, nature or the fine arts can indulge themselves in Scheveningen’s numerous and varied museums.Muzee Scheveningen organises guided tours of the lighthouse on Wednesday- en Saturday afternoons at 14.00 hours.

This tour through Scheveningen starts and finishes on the boulevard in front of the Pier and continues his journey along the harbour and the ancient village of Scheveningen. The tour ends after 30 minutes back to the Pier. You will pass all the interesting places of what  Scheveningen had to offer in the old days and what it has to offer nowadays. The Scheveningen lighthouse was built in 1875 and is entirely made of cast iron plates. The tower - a national monument - is owned by the state of The Netherlands. Guided tours of the lighthouse are given on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons at 14.00 (by reservation only). After climbing 165 steps one can step out to enjoy a magnificent panoramic view. There is also a small exhibit relating to the background and technical details of the lighthouse.

Westbroekpark
Nieuwe Parklaan

The Westbroekpark is well worth a visit, if only to stroll, a bit of rowing, miniature golf or to enjoy the fragrances of the Rosarium. The large park consists of many play areas, a flower garden, various ponds and more. The Rosarium is the pride of the park where some 20,000 roses bloom from June until October.
It gives space to two events named Parade in July and Concours Hippique Benelux Open in September.

Sculptures by the Sea houses a variety of human statues: large, small, happy and sad. The architecture of the famous Dutch architect Wim Quist culminates at the museum. In addition to the house collection, there are regular special exhibitions by contemporary sculptors.

In Muzee Scheveningen the history of the fishing village Scheveningen comes tot life. Walking through a street of Scheveningen, where children play and women do the laundry, it feels like earlier times. With pleasure old fishermen and skippers tell stories about previous time. In the other part of the museum you dive from the sparkling sea surface until in the mysterious deep sea. Also bring a visit to the lighthouse of Scheveningen. For this purpose it is necessary to reserve in advance.

You are standing in the middle of the largest painting of the Netherlands. Panorama Mesdag is a cylindrical painting, more than 14 meters high and 120 meters in circumference. The vista of the sea, the dunes and Scheveningen village was painted by one of the most famous painters of the Hague School, Hendrik Willem Mesdag. It is the oldest 19th century panorama in the world in its original site, and a unique cultural heritage. Panorama Mesdag is one of the most popular attractions in The Hague.
